General view in stonemason's yard in Chesterfield where the sculptures were left in storage before installation.
Commission: The Stone City Symposium , (19 June and 16 July 1995). Five sculptors carved five stone pieces to be included in the city centre. Each artist made designs for the five different sites. Pieces on view here are 'Fighting Rams' by COX and The grid-like 'Sheen' by FARRELL, shown here before the stainless steel element was attached (after installation). The othe smaller sculptures were made by student assistants during the four week project. |
