Description:
View of exhibited work. Photographer's statement: "This body of work, entitled Shape and Colour explores the notion of the human condition and tackles the primary emotional states that we all feel from day to day. Its seemingly mild and basic titling is in contrary to the subject matter. Emotions run deep, feelings can be heavy and hard to control and they tend to force the hand in many areas of life. The work takes an abstract look towards the human condition as opposed to a direct approach. Expressive geometric shapes have been used to convey and enhance the emotions that the colour more solidly represents. The photographs are named to show how I saw them when creating them, but all the images remain ambiguous. The reader can interpret them as they like and decide what the images represent to them. The repetition of the model is to enhance this ambiguity, the eyes are closed and the model remains anonymous, he represents the 'human' as a whole."
