Description:
Detail. Photographer's statement: "Around Sheffield there are beautiful parks and landscapes, many of us pass them every day on our way to work, university or shopping. The problem is we get used to it, the amazing scenery doesn't seem to take our breath away as maybe it once did. By using infrared photography I have attempted to give this natural beauty a new dimension, infrared photography lets in only natural light source that us humans cannot see. Thus greens are turned into gold's and water that reflects light and simmers in the sun becomes murky and ominous. The natural beauty of the countryside is not lost but enhanced; it is given a surreal or fairy-tale feel; drawing the viewer into its world making you rethink your reaction to an everyday view. Beauty they say is in the eye of the beholder, infrared lets you behold something that is not naturally available to us it is therefore an insight in to another level of nature not meant for us.""
