This project was at the heart of Wakefield's regeneration programme. CHIPPERFIELD was chosen after a competition in 2003. Completes a trinity of sculpture venues in West Yorkshire with the Henry Moore Gallery in Leeds and the Yorkshire Sculpture nearby at Bretton. In the same year that Hepworth Wakefield opened, a second art gallery by CHIPPERFIELD, the Turner Contemporary, was opened in Margate.
