An industrial museum on a site that has been involved with steel-working since the 13th century. Opened in 1970 as a museum. Consists of the Abbeydale Works, a 19th century water-powered scythe making business. Buildings on-site include: The Crucible Furnace (c. 1830), The Tilt Forge (1785), The Grinding Hull (1817), The Manager's House (c. 1838), Worker's Cottages (1786-93), The Boring Shop, The Blacking Shop, The Counting House, and The Steam Engine.
