Description:
|
Exterior detail: chimney on top of St Paul's Parade. Seven life-size doves sited on one of the chimneys of St Paul's Parade overlooking the Peace gardens. The lower portion of the building is occupied by Bar Ha-Ha. Inspired by Pablo Picasso's visit to Sheffield in 1950 to attend the 2nd World Peace Congress. During his visit Picasso drew a dove on a napkin in Butler's Dining Rooms in Sheffield. City of Peace was commissioned by Fred Gould of Great Central Developments as part of the Percentage for Art scheme.
