Description:
|
Exterior view: public space in front of the museum with the museum cafe to the right. The stepped roofs provide access for natural light to the galleries. The gap between the two sections of the Museum is a heavily used pedestrian through fare linking the Cathedral Square with the river bank and the pedestrian footbridge that comprises part of the Hohenzollern Bridge. This Modern Art Museum was built to house part of the Wallraf-Richartz Collection, which was originally exhibited from 1957 in the building which now houses the city's Applied Arts Collection.
