Detail within the Park: View over the sunken Garden of Bamboos (The Sound Cylinder is to the left at the back of the Garden, half-hidden by trees) Location: Parc de La Villette, Paris 19e. Google maps < > . This new park was one of President Mitterand's Grand Projets. It was designed by Bernard TSCHUMI and featured a grid of red Folies, of varying designs, some of which were put to practical uses. The Park is crossed by the Canal de l'Ourcq and also houses the Cité des Sciences (Museum of Science and Technology), the National Conservatory of Music and the Grande Halle de la Villette - a venue for cultural and sporting events. The Etablissement Public du Parc et de la Grande Halle de la Villette (EPPGHV) is in charge of cultural events as well as the maintenance and security of the park.")
